Understanding the Results: SEC Scenarios
Mountville High School
Aligning Algebra Curriculum Across Multiple Courses
The teachers continued to look at the pictures and noticed that they each were covering patterns and coordinate planes at the appropriate level for their course. However, assessment data showed students struggling with this topic area at the higher grade and subject level (Algebra II). The teachers explored hypotheses for this and figured that either the assessment was much harder, or the instruction was different at the higher level.
Without having the assessments in front of them, the teachers decided to explore the instructional practice survey results.
